Essex Awards Presentation

Booth Academy of Table Tennis were awarded the Community Club of the Year award for their work both reaching out to the local community and also in creating a Regional Centre of Excellence for Table Tennis.

The second weekend of British League Premier Division action takes place at the BATTS Team Peniel Table Tennis Club, The Norman Booth Centre, Eldersfield, Mullbery Green, Old Harlow, Essex, CM17 0EY next weekend (Saturday/Sunday 28/29 November 2009) commencing at 11.00 am on the Saturday and at 10.00 am on the
Sunday. Admission is free and you can expect to see some eagerly contested play.

Some of you may know that last month we picked up the Harlow Community Club of the Year award at Harlow Playhouse. As winners, we were automatically nominated for the Essex Community Club of the year, and last week, live on BBC Essex Radio, we picked up that award too. We now go forward to the Eastern Region award ceremony in December in Newmarket. If by some miracle we were to win that, we would go through to the flagship BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards live on TV.

Next Friday, (27th November) BATTS hosts a 3 day festival featuring the finest players from these shores and beyond. Mind you, it's no exhibition with around £10,000 prize money at stake.
